About Ramen Bar Ichi

We specialize in making authentic Japanese ramen. We make our broth from scratch using traditional Japanese techniques fused with 21st century technology. This results in a truly flavorful and umami packed broth, without being overly heavy. Most ramen shops in the U.S. do not make their broths from scratch. It is this extra effort taken to make a true Japanese ramen broth which sets us apart from other ramen shops.

We also serve a variety of Japanese Otsumami (appetizers), Izakaya style sides, fried dishes, and rice bowls for you to enjoy a wide array of delicious Japanese favorites. No need to fly to Japan when you have us nearby! :)

I have gone to many ramen spots all over Houston, but I come to Ramen Bar Ichi regularly, and for good reason. This place has by far, the most flavorful ramen and it's not absurdly overpriced compared to other locations I've been to. Jessie is always helpful, professional, and friendly! Take advantage of the $20.99 Ramen+Side+Drink combo if you visit! The is menu is more straight forward and modest, not overpopulated with items. 100% recommend. If you plan on getting spicy ramen, I suggest getting the spice on the side. It can get HOT!

Tonkotsu ramen was good. I would come back here anytime. Place was orderly and clean. I missed the egg and hope that they will add it as an option. My seat was low and really worn out, i hope they will raise it higher when they re-upholster it.

Spicy Pollo Loco Ramen still amazing, being coming here since 2017! Katie was a great waitress, be patient for the Ramen, 🍜 it’s worth it! Took about 5-10 minutes after ordering. We got here right at 4 pm when they open after lunch break. Portions are big, a mon avis! 🇫🇷 ⚽️ The great thing about this Ramen is that it gets better with every bite, at the end I was more than satisfied. A small Ramen shop that packs a BIG flavor punch 🥊

Good menu, okay food. Service and atmosphere: The restaurant is nicely decorated inside. They offer good number seating options. Service was friendly and timely. Could have been more attentive. Food and drinks: I liked that the menu had few options which usually suggest that the kitchen concentrates on what they know best. The many had typical dishes expected at ramen spot. The flavours lucked a bit comparing to other ramen restaurants we visited. My ramen salad (no broth option) was nicely presented. The noodle was on a firm side. Other ramen soups needed more flavours. You can order alcoholic beverages here. Pricing: $$ definitely affordable and not overpriced for what was served.

I had the best ramen. If you miss the taste of Japan, it can be a great option. I enjoyed the karage as it was warm and well-cooked.
